Enable Carrier Service API
Before configuring delivery rates, make sure that you have enabled Carrier Service API or Carrier Calculated Shipping (CCS) on your online store
Carrier Service API is a Shopify feature that allows app developers like DingDoong to generate rates within your checkout
To check if the feature is enabled on your store, go to the Rate tab from the main menu. If you don't see any notification banners asking you to enable Carrier Service API, you are set to proceed further. If not, check the suggestions below to have the feature:
HOW TO ENABLE CARRIER SERVICE API?
Availability of the Carrier Service API feature is based on the Shopify plan you are on:
Step 1: Choose one of the following ways
Upgrade to Shopify Advanced/ Plus plan to get the Carrier Service API for free
If you're using the Shopify plan with monthly billing, pay Shopify $20 per month to use Carrier Service API
Switch to the Shopify plan with yearly billing to get the Carrier Service API for free
Step 2: Contact Shopify support
Tell them the way you choose and ask to enable the Carrier Service API
Eg: If you choose the first way, please ask like the following sample:
I want to upgrade to Shopify Advanced Plan to get the Carrier Service API for free
Eg: If you choose the second way, please ask like the following sample:
I want to enable Carrier Service API by paying $20 per month
Eg: If you choose the third way, please ask like the following sample:
I want to switch to the Shopify plan with yearly billing to get the Carrier Service API for free
Step 3: Confirm
Once the Shopify support team has enabled the feature on your store, please come back to the DingDoong app, and click on the title "I enabled the Carrier Service API on my store" to confirm. You are now good to go.
